The water problem on the Camino
Bottled water adds up
€1-2 a day × 30 days = up to €60 wasted on plastic. And in small villages you can't always buy it.
Single-use plastic
The Camino already carries too much waste. A real reusable bottle brings that to zero.
Fountains you can't fully trust
In Galicia many are broken. On the Meseta there's summer drought. A questionable tap in an albergue is more common than you'd think.

Grayl filters viruses. We don't. That's why it costs twice as much. But in Europe there's no viral contamination in the water — the real issue is bacteria, chlorine and sediment. And that's exactly what GoPure filters.
Frequently asked questions
Can I drink from any water source?
Yes, from any natural source or tap in Europe: rivers, streams, village fountains, albergue taps. It removes 99.99% of bacteria, chlorine and sediment. For high viral-risk zones (outside Europe), combine with chemical purification.
How long does the filter last?
Roughly 1,500 litres or about 20 months of average use. A pilgrim drinking 3 L a day on the Camino Francés has enough filter for more than 12 months of continuous walking.
Does it need special maintenance?
No. Rinse the bottle with clean water after use and let it dry upside down. The filter is replaceable when it reaches end of life.
Is it only for outdoors or also for daily use?
Both. It's designed as a premium daily bottle — 800 ml, BPA-free, paracord strap and silicone base. Works just as well in the office as on the Camino.
